How do Photochromic Lenses Work?
Photochromic lenses react to the amount of sunlight they are exposed to. More specifically, UV rays. The greater the intensity of UV light the darker the lenses will become. Newer photochromic lenses that get much darker, such as Sensity dark or Xtractive Transitions, react to not only UV light but also visible light making the lenses even darker than the original lenses.
To keep it simple, more light = darker lenses. Try the demo below to see the lenses change.

About Photochromic Lenses…
Photochromic lenses react to light and change from clear lenses to tinted sunglasses. The great thing about the photochromic technology is that they react to the amount of light. So on a dim day with minimal sunlight you will have just the right about of tint to keep visibility at its best.
Many people are familiar with the Transitions Brand name, however many companies use the same technology with different benefits, some even better than the Transition Brand themselves.
