How do Photochromic Lenses Work?

Photochromic lenses react to the amount of sunlight they are exposed to. More specifically, UV rays. The greater the intensity of UV light the darker the lenses will become. Newer photochromic lenses that get much darker, such as Sensity dark or Xtractive Transitions, react to not only UV light but also visible light making the lenses even darker than the original lenses.
